Famora ("we", "our", or "us") is a real-time family location sharing application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website. Please read this policy carefully. 2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location Data

Famora collects precise GPS location data (latitude, longitude, accuracy, speed) both while the app is in use and in the background. Background location is used to continuously update your position on your family circle's map and to trigger geofence alerts when you arrive at or leave saved places (such as home or school). This is the core function of the app.

2.2 Account Information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and optional profile photo. This information identifies you within your family circles.

2.3 Device & Usage Data

We collect device identifiers (for push notifications), app activity logs, crash reports, and battery level information. This helps us deliver notifications and improve app performance.

2.4 Activity Recognition

With your permission, Famora uses the device's activity recognition sensor to detect movement states (stationary, walking, driving). This is used to adjust location update frequency and display your current activity to family members.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Display your real-time location to members of your family circles on a live map
• Send push notifications for geofence arrivals and departures
• Deliver in-app family chat messages
• Send safety and driving alerts to your circle members
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
• Improve app performance and fix bugs

4. Sharing of Information

Your location is shared only with members of your family circles — people you have explicitly invited or accepted into your circle. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share data with service providers (Firebase / Google Cloud) solely to operate the app, under strict data processing agreements.

5. Data Retention

Your current location is stored as a single document that is overwritten on each update — we do not maintain a history of past locations unless you enable location history in settings. Account data is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile settings screen.

6. Location Sharing Controls

You are always in control of your location sharing. You can pause sharing at any time from the app. When sharing is paused, your location is not visible to any circle member. You can also leave or delete any circle at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

Famora is designed for family use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children's use of the app and to manage their circle membership.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted HTTPS transmission, Firebase Authentication, and Firestore security rules that enforce circle-membership-based access. Only verified circle members can read your location data.

9. Your Rights

10. Changes to This Policy
